IoT Hardware Terms

1. Device Usage
These terms govern the use of Smart Bay IoT hardware products, including smart home devices, office equipment, and transportation systems.
2. Connectivity
IoT devices communicate using Smart Bay’s unified connectivity protocol, enabling:
- Seamless device pairing and discovery
- Cross-device data synchronization
- Low-latency communication (under 10ms)
- Support for multiple device ecosystems
3. Network Requirements
IoT devices require:
- Stable internet connection (minimum 1 Mbps per device)
- Compatible smart home hub or gateway
- Regular firmware updates for security
- Sufficient power supply as specified in device documentation
4. Data Collection
IoT devices may collect:
- Device usage statistics and performance metrics
- Environmental sensor data (temperature, humidity, etc.)
- Voice commands and audio recordings (where applicable)
- Location data for context-aware services
5. Security
All IoT communications are encrypted using industry-standard protocols. Users should:
- Change default passwords immediately
- Keep firmware updated
- Use secure Wi-Fi networks
- Review device permissions regularly
6. Warranty
Smart Bay IoT hardware is covered by a limited warranty as specified in the product documentation. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.
7. Service Discontinuation
Smart Bay may discontinue support for specific IoT device models with 90 days’ notice. Discontinued devices will continue to function with existing features but will no longer receive updates.
